“I absolutely love the service compared to the dial-up I had before. I got a great install and I think that makes a huge difference in the service experience.”

“My experience with Hughesnet has been overwhelmingly positive. The pricing is rather competitive considering that you are sending a broadband connection to space and then receiving one in exchange. The daily download and upload caps are likely to go unnoticed by the average user … The convenience that it offers is lifesaving, and everyone will enjoy high speed internet access. Hughesnet remains a viable option, and they certainly have my recommendation, even if they offer daily bandwidth caps.”

“HughesNet Satellite Internet is a great service. We used dial-up for years, but recently became a poor option. I researched all the options in my area - wireless, dsl, satellite, and spoke with several providers before choosing HughesNet. I chose HughesNet because they could commit to a time to come to my home and assess the property for installation, perform the installation that day and HughesNet has licensed installers who were available within one week of my order. None of the other providers were able (or willing) to assess my property that quickly … The pages load quickly, I can trust that the service will be there and if I do have a complaint, HughesNet wants to know.”

“The installation went great. No problems there. It took about 1 1/2 hours. I jumped on the net immediately and did a speed test at www.speedtest.net. I was shocked to find that the download speed was consistently above 1mb/s. My verizon air card at our previous address only tested somewhere around 0.5 mb/s. Needless to say it is plenty fast to enough to watch videos and download pics, etc. The only time the speed ever gets slow is around 3pm til about 8pm when most people are online. There is still plenty of other time left in a 24 hr period to get online … Overall, we have had zero problems and are very happy we got hughes net. We were miserable without our internet and glad to have it back after moving. BTW, if you are not satisfied within 30 days of service you can cancel and are not bound to the 24 month contract.”

“I live in a very remote area that has no hope of DSL or Cable service anytime soon. I saw the ad for Hughesnet on TV and thought this could be my way into the modern highspeed internet … I loaded a few websites and the speed was very impressive. So much faster than my dialup ever was. I am now 3 months into my service and have not had any issues at all. Using speedtest.net I consistently measure my connection between 500-650kbps. It seems suprisingly tolerant of weather interference with only the densest of cloud cover slightly slowing the speeds. I called customer service about a month ago to upgrade my service as I have come close to the Fair Access Policy limits a few times and didn't want to have my connection slowed. The representative was very polite and helpful.”

“It was almost like I was sitting at my office using the office T1 line - web pages loaded fast, I could quickly send and receive email, was even able to watch videos on YouTube! I highly recommend this service to anyone still on dial-up!”

"My first week the modem went down. The installer arrived a few days later and installed a new modem and the system has worked flawlessly ever since, 2 months. I don't like calling for technical support, but the installer more than made up for them. He was the most courteous and competent fellow and gave me his private number if I have any problems. I live in a rural area where there will never be any kind of hi-speed connection, so I'm grateful for the satellite connection. Dial up was sure a drag and also made your computer less useful."
