SpaceX is continuing to offer steep discounts on its Starlink satellite internet service, this time with the most significant price cut to the company’s hardware to date and a 12-month discount on its Residential service. In select areas, new Starlink customers can receive a Standard dish for $89 along with a Residential plan for $59 per month or a Residential Lite plan for $49 per month.
The new deal makes owning and using Starlink the most affordable it’s been in the U.S., with $732 savings in the first year for the Residential plan, which usually costs $120 per month. Starlink is a satellite internet service that is available nearly everywhere in the U.S. Like several of Starlink’s recent promotions, the discount is only available in regions with excess network capacity where ownership is less than in other areas.
The discount only applies to new Starlink sign-ups, and after 12 months, customers will be charged the regular price. The discount doesn’t require a commitment like previous deals, but if customers change their plan or change their address to one outside the discount area, they will be subject to a change fee, and they will lose the promotional pricing.
Starlink continues promotions as it races to add capacity with more launches

Starlink has been pursuing increasingly steep discounts in areas of the country with surplus network capacity. It appears to be determined to even out the distribution of Starlink across the country, as many regions are not only not receiving the discount, but expensive congestion charges are still being applied to customers in areas with too much demand and insufficient capacity. These one-time charges can be as high as $1,000, intended to discourage further purchases.
Starlink is continually marching towards a goal of launching enough satellites to improve capacity and performance worldwide. As of September 2025, there are about 8,400 Starlink satellites; however, the launch company has ambitions to launch more than 30,000 next-generation satellites. Stalink claims it will be able to offer gigabit speeds in 2026.
